Let us salute the spirit of freedom

“Our nation is like a tree of which the original trunk is swarajya and the branches are swadeshi”

This quote by Subhash Chandra Bose stresses upon the fact that, for the true success of India, it is of utmost importance that we are self-sufficient. The rule of the British changed the way our minds think even now, after 75 years. Indians themselves, find certain customs and traditions of Indian origin hard to accept and embarrassing. This is the way the British left a mark on our minds that makes us think of our own heritage fallacious. We say our country is independent but have we truly gained freedom? 

Each individual should strive to get true freedom from these brainwashed and distorted facts. A good start would be to accept our culture with dignity and pride. Accepting and appreciating our heritage without the feeling of infamy would be a huge leap for Swarajya. We must also respect those who make sacrifices to make our country proud. It is also salient that we don’t forget our roots while walking hand in hand with the world, and remember to owe it to our motherland. 

Let us be free from the binding shackles of thoughts that stop our minds from being independent.

Freedom in mind, faith in words, pride in our heart, memories in our soul,Let's salute the nation on the 75th year of India's Independence.

It's time to celebrate the freedom of our country and pay tribute to our freedom fighters. 

S. P. M English School, Pune began the preparations for celebrating the 75th year of Independence with great zeal and enthusiasm. 

The young minds were engaged in hands on activities like making the tri coloured flags, fans, festoons etc. The concept of shapes was easily understood as the kids made various shapes based on this theme. 

These activities inculcated the feeling of patriotism as the children learnt to relate these colours with our national flag. 

The students along with the teachers enthusiastically participated in decorating the classrooms and the entire school premises. This indeed imbibed the value of unity among the children.

We had a special guest Prasade sir, who was a part of the freedom struggle and experienced the first independence. The students were enthralled to listen to his experience. 

Sharing is caring is a common phrase used by all of us.

Our joys are doubled when we share it with others. Keeping this in mind 

the students of std VIII spread happiness by sharing burfis prepared by them with divyanga children (special) of Ruia Mukhbadhir Vidyalaya. This act of kindness was indeed a wonderful gesture by our students this inculcated the most important value of empathy in them. They also participated in a rally dressed up as freedom fighters. 

The students actively participated in making this celebration a grand success by their total involvement right from the beginning till the end of the event. They voluntarily participated in cleaning the premises packing and stacking things etc. 

By doing so the students  made us proud by being responsible and realising the importance of dignity of labour. 

This event was indeed a memorable one for all of us.
